Mike Tritle

Mike has been crawling over, under and around cars since before as a little kid he flew over the back of the front seat of his dad’s 1950 Chevrolet and did a nose plant on the steel dash during a panic stop.  Not to be deterred and with no permanent injury, he spent countless hours learning tools and stuff by helping same dad keep his cars running.

Trained as an aircraft mechanic after earning a straight A Auto Shop average in High School, he tired of book learning and enrolled in the shade tree engineering department at the University of Great Lakes Dragaway where he got his degree in making cars go faster without spending much money.  While in that same Auto Shop class, he was part of a team of 4 students that built the instructor’s stroked 283 (302) for his drag 58 Corvette.

Applying the scientific method many times, the curious one was always looking for something different to do with ordinary things.  His research into BioFuels began upon recognizing the tremendous cost saving potential compared to the octane benefit of E85.  His first new car, a 1974 Plymouth Barracuda has been tuned for and now runs exclusively on the moonshine fuel since 2005.

Mike put his talent for creative problem solving to work during his 20 years at Auto Meter working with NASCAR, Drag Racing, Off Road and other forms of motorsports teams as a go to guy for help in making things work including a tenure as the Data Acquisition field support specialist.

He also taught an Auto Shop and Motorsports Marketing evening class for extra credit for less than academically gifted students where they “restified” that same first new car.  Since then he and the ‘Cuda have participated in several final rounds in NMCA, PRO, NSCA and other local special events visiting the winner’s circle several times.

Several articles, blogs and a short stint as a consultant to a Bio Fuels consulting firm later, this husband of the same girl for 36 years, father of 2 sons and grandfather of 7 is still sharing knowledge and advice to any and all looking to make the change.

There’s only one thing…  He hates internet fiction!
